RP Masiello is looking for a senior-level estimator to join our team engaged in commercial construction projects across New England. As an experienced professional, you will have the opportunity to work both collaboratively with our various teams and lead estimating efforts on some of our major upcoming commercial work, including several new large building projects.

Role Summary

As a senior estimator you will be responsible for the full development of accurate and competitive project cost estimates from early conceptual scoping through final bid submission. You will work directly in tandem with the Chief Estimator but will also have the autonomy to take ownership of your own projects and pricing decisions; collaborating closely with project managers, field staff and other support staff whenever additional insight is needed. We encourage a collaborative working environment and discourage unproductive layers of bureaucracy which hinder effective and smart problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement efforts in tandem with Chief Estimator from early conceptional schematics to final bidding stage
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
  • Source, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to build accurate project budgets
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project scope to flag risks, gaps, or opportunities before they become problems
  • Recommend value engineering options and alternative approaches that improve cost or schedule outcomes
  • Coordinate with and project management and field teams to hand off estimates smoothly into execution
  • Contribute to proposal development and business development efforts as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as an Estimator working on commercial construction projects, preferably with experience on ground-up new build projects and/or design-build experience
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, sourcing, sequencing, materials, and cost drivers in the procurement process
  • Proficiency working within various construction estimating and other construction technology software platforms
  • Willingness to learn and work within new and emerging digital technologies as tools and processes evolve
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates at once
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or other related technical field preferred
  • Experience working on Design/Build delivery method is a plus
  • Capable of working collaboratively with all parties involved to deliver best project outcome

As a senior level project manager, you have the autonomy to oversee the construction project as you see fit but will also have access to a cadre of other project managers and adjacent departments who can help facilitate a successful outcome of your projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years experience as a Project Manager working on commercial construction projects, with experience on ground-up new build projects OR
  • 7+ years mixed experience as working as a field Superintendent and Project Manager
  • Experience working within various construction technology software programs required
  • Relevant degree in engineering or related technical field required for project manager experience; considered a plus for superintendent + project manager experience

Job Description

We are looking for teammates who are creative, innovative, accountable, and initiative-driven. RPM believes in a “flattened” hierarchy without excessive layers of executive bureaucracy. As APM, you will work closely with senior project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, other supporting teams to help keep projects organized and moving forward – while having complete access to other departments and company leadership to effectively and creatively deliver the best possible product. The Assistant Project Manager supports project management teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. In the role of APM, you will have the opportunity to build the critical skills necessary to eventually grow into a Project Manager role.

Responsibilities Include

  • Support project managers with day-to-day project administration and coordination
  • Potentially assist with subcontractor procurement: bid invitations, scope review, and supporting documentation
  • Help manage submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and project document control
  • Coordinate material/equipment tracking, lead times, and delivery schedules with the field team
  • Assist with cost tracking, budget updates, forecasting, and change management documentation
  • Participate in schedule updates and look-ahead planning in coordination with the superintendent and project manager
  • Communicate effectively and maintain relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth job progress
  • Support project closeout: O&M manuals, as-builts, punch list tracking, and turnover documentation.
  • Participate in safety and compliance organization in coordination with the field teams

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience working on commercial construction projects in project management role OR
  • 3+ years mixed experience working in commercial field operations as assistant superintendent with some related business experience in project management, estimating, or similar design-build role
  • Exposure to ground-up new build projects and/or tenant improvements is a plus
  • Working knowledge of construction documentation and workflows (submittals, RFIs, pay apps, change orders)
  • Knowledge and experience working within various construction technology software programs required

Our superintendents provide the day-to-day leadership and technical oversight of construction activities on the jobsite. You will coordinate and direct all field operations, to include RPM’s self-performing teams, subcontractors, and other project operations managers to ensure the work is executed safely and promptly and meets RPM’s quality standards. Superintendents work collaboratively with project managers but also have access to other departments and company leadership to effectively and creatively deliver the best possible product.

Responsibilities Include

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and consultants
  • Plan and maintain short- and long-term look-ahead schedules; drive day-to-day execution to meet milestones
  • Administer and enforce the jobsite safety program, including orientations, daily/weekly safety practices, and compliance documentation
  • Oversee field quality management: understand OSHA requirements and oversee inspections and potential corrective actions in compliance with all safety requirements
  • Coordinate site logistics, access, material staging, deliveries, and equipment utilization
  • Communicate effectively with owners, architects/engineers, and internal teams to resolve field issues and maintain progress
  • Maintain clear daily reporting (manpower, progress, weather impacts, delays, and site conditions)

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a superintendent on commercial construction projects, with experience on ground-up new build projects highly preferred
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Design/Build delivery method is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple subcontracting vendors and coordinate complex field operations
  • Strong knowledge of jobsite safety, OSHA requirements, and quality control best practices
  • Experience working within various construction technology software programs (Procore) required
  • Relevant degree in engineering, or related technical field is a plus (and may be required depending on experience mix)

Required Qualifications for Carpenters

  • Minimum 5 years experience working as a carpenter on commercial projects OR
  • Residential carpenters MAY APPLY if they demonstrate a willingness and ability to adapt to commercial work
  • Experience performing rough carpentry & framework, finish work including some millwork & casement work, doors and commercial grade hardware
  • MUST POSSES a valid driver’s license and a dependable method of transportation for commuting to job sites.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
