Two New Commercial Buildings

RP Masiello was engaged as design/build general contractor to bring Development Associates' vision for first-class medical office space in Northampton to life. The project began with a single three-story, 42,000-square-foot facility featuring Class A professional and office suites. Its exterior pairs conventional brick with a glass curtain wall, striking an eye-catching balance of traditional and modern architecture.

The first building drew an overwhelmingly positive response from the local medical community, creating immediate demand for a second, adjacent 44,000-square-foot facility. Working to an aggressive schedule, RP Masiello moved the same construction team directly onto the new building, delivering it to its primary tenant, Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Both three-story buildings in this 84,000-square-foot office park rest on rammed aggregate piers — a foundation system that offers reliable settlement control, faster installation, and lower cost than traditional deep foundations, helping RP Masiello keep construction within the developer's budget. From conceptual design and permitting through construction quality and schedule, RP Masiello earned accolades from both the client and the community for its turnkey design-build delivery of the Northampton/I-91 Professional Park.
