Anchored by the University of Massachusetts Medical School, with more than 60 biotech and medical device companies in the area, Worcester has a significant and growing life sciences sector. Chacharone Properties recently acquired a 40-acre commercial site in Worcester along the same commercial corridor as the medical school and the heart of the life sciences cluster.
Featured Project
The property at 115 Northeast Cutoff was originally developed as a semi-conductor fabrication facility. Continuing our decades-long relationship with Chacharone Properties, RP Masiello is engaged as the design/build general contractor that will transform this property into a Innovation and Commercialization center.
The former computer chip manufacturing building will be taken back to its cast-in-place concrete structure, then fully rebuilt and re-imagined. Part of the building will be configurable for start-up or early stage life sciences companies needing shared core facilities. The center will also have space for larger biopharma companies who need customized labs and/or cGMP facilities for drug manufacturing.
Design is ongoing and construction will begin later in 2022.
